GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK
Mother Nature and her people are our greatest sources of inspiration and with determination Cornelia Sun continuously strive to improve their ways of working towards a more sustainable environment. We believe in the process of reuse, reduce and recycle and this is what we do. According to our philosophy, waste isn't waste until you waste it. We do believe that things can be transformed, just like energy and we want to reuse what has already been given to us. We create colorful creations for the green soul. All our timeless designs are created out of spiritual vintage textiles that previously have been worn as sarees by women in India – fabrics that tell a story.
We also believe that fashion can be made in a safe, clean and beautiful way where creativity, quality, environment and people are valued equally. To us, style has always been knowing that the hands that made our clothes are happy hands. Cornelia Sun is designed in Sweden and proudly produced by a small family-run business in Nepal. No water is ever wasted in our production and we can happily guarantee you that the story of our clothes starts out with a great first chapter. Our team has visited the factory personally to make sure that our co-workers operate under both good economic and environmental conditions. It is the intention of Cornelia Sun to identify processes within our sewing house that is detrimental to our environment, and assist them to implement more sustainable processes to eliminate or reduce waste and pollutions.
UP-CYCLED TEXTILES
All Cornelia Sun´s clothing are made out of up-cycled material from India and Nepal. These colourful creations have earlier been worn by women all over the countries as sarees, traditional women garment that consist of a drape in thousands of variations. Every region in India offer a different style of saree fabric crafted and designed using ancient techniques perfected over many years by the rural artisans. Chiffon is the most common material and these sarees are usually made out of silk and rayon. Cornelia Sun do not fall for trends, because kindness is always in season. We put great effort and joy in selecting the most beautiful up-cycled pattern, color and quality. We are recognized for our timeless colorful kimonos and kaftans with the bohemian flair and with touches of both elegance and playfulness. The oversized look and the playful mix of prints and colors give each design a unique character. Most important is, that these textiles speak to our hearts.
ONE-OF-A-KIND
All Cornelia Sun’s designs come as one-of-a- kinds, which means that no garment is exactly the same. The saris are all unique and different in both weaving and quality and each single piece of art has its unique story to tell, just like you. We always strive to extract as much as we can from each piece of fabric to make sure that as less material as possible goes to waste. From what is left from each textile, we make ties and bow ties. A way to enable our husbands, fathers and brothers to be a part of the movement.
