Our love for India and the people of the region is deep and pure. We want to enable you to connect not only with your mind, but also your heart. Therefore, Cornelia Sun support a local non-profit organization in a small village in the Northern part of India which aims to develop the empowerment of the women. When you dress up in Cornelia Sun you give the young ladies of this unprivileged area the opportunity to learn how to write and count – something they otherwise do not take for granted. By wearing Cornelia Sun we make women’s rights become human rights and together we we can actually change the world with style.
WHY THIS PROJECT?
Over and over again, we see that when women succeed, communities succeed. Since we also have worked in this project ourselves, we know the positive difference these contributions can make for our global sisters. These women were born into a low cast community of poverty and are treated with little respect and acceptance by others members of society as well as public authorities. They are deprived of basic human rights and have never been able to go to school in their younger years.
Your support will contribute with working material needed in order to make handicrafts which the women can use themselves, to make clothes for the children in the area or in order to start their own business. It will also make it possible for the NPO to hire teachers who can teach hindi and help the volunteers with the daily work. Cornelia Sun is also proud to announce that AVI (2015) finished the construction work of a boarding house only for girls which will give our sisters the opportunity to fully focus on their studies.

Cornelia Sun´s mission is to support other NPO which aim to empower women in different kind of ways and we intend to launch cooperations all around the globe. Cornelia Sun is determined to work with smaller organizations where there is no doubt where the money goes and we want to get to know the people who work in the projects and be a part of it ourselves before we establish any further collabs. Cornelia Sun wants to restore a worldwide sisterhood and we´ve has just taking the first steps towards making this vision become reality – we are overwhelmed to see you join this movement of love for one another.

Glimpses of love from the project Cornelia Sun is supporting in India.
Women make up over half the population of the world but are marginalized in numerous ways. Not only is this an injustice, it’s unsustainable. Rachel Brathén, a.k.a. Yoga Girl, and two of her best friends, Olivia Rothschild and Leticia Reyes decided to do something about it. They decided to change the world through social mission projects. This is how 109 World came alive.
109 World is a non-profit organization dedicated to enabling each persons unique ability to make a change in the world by creating online movements, hosting global mission trips and raising awareness for the greatest social and environmental challenges of our time.
